Texas City High School Cosmetology is a two-year program that prepares students for their cosmetology license. Students must take classes in their junior and senior year. Students must be approved to take the class and go through an application priocess. Students are trained in all phases of Cosmetology. Students will take state license test when meeting requirements set by the state. Students will be expected to follow the rules set by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) and Texas City High School Cosmetology Department. All fees are collected at the beginning of the course.

Fees included for Cosmetology:
- State Board Exam: $122 Deposit
- Kit and State Board Review Book: $530
- Lab Jacket: $25
- Student Permit: $25
Students will be given the opportunity to take the state board licensure examination. A $60 deposit is required from the students and will be reimbursed by the school when the student takes the exam.

Texas City High School Cosmetology salon opens Oct. 12, 2023. We are excited to have this opportunity for our Cosmetology students to work on guests and gain real-world experience, while preparing for licensure! Our client service days are Thursdays from 12:30-5 p.m. and Fridays from 12:30-2:50 p.m. in the Cosmetology Building. We accept cash or checks payable to TCHS Cosmetology or payment via RevTrack. We also accept donations as well. Please see our procedures and protocols below.
