Theatre

Welcome!

Welcome to award-winning Texas City High School Theatre website! The TCHS Theatre Department is under the direction of Mr. Thomas George.

Our goal is to assist students in developing a passion for Theatre. Between course offerings and our after-school Theatre program, we hope that students will find that there is a home for them in Theatre.

Students enrolled in Theatre courses are not required to participate in the after-school Theatre program. In most cases, our auditions are open to any student enrolled at TCHS.

TCHS Theatre Presents...

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – Fall Musical 2025

Texas City High School Theatre is excited to announce its Fall 2025 production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory — and this year, students from Levi Fry Intermediate, Blocker Middle School, and Texas City High School are all invited to audition and participate.

About the Show

Based on Roald Dahl’s beloved novel, this musical invites students into a world of pure imagination. From golden tickets to chocolate rivers and unforgettable characters, this production promises to be full of energy, creativity and fun.

Who Can Audition?

All students who will be attending Levi Fry Intermediate, Blocker Middle School or Texas City High School during the 2025–2026 school year are eligible to audition. This collaboration provides a unique opportunity to connect across campuses and build a unified theatre community.

Roles for All Ages

  • Levi Fry students can audition for the role of Oompa Loompas, adding fun and flair to the production.

  • Blocker and TCHS students are eligible for principal and ensemble roles, including Charlie, Willy Wonka and the other golden ticket winners.

Key Dates

  • Auditions

  • Performances

    • October 2, 3 and 4, 2025, at Texas City High School

Student Participation Fee

Students who are cast in the production will be asked to pay a $50 participation fee. This fee covers a show shirt and costume (for Oompa Loompas and ensemble performers).

Parent Involvement

Parent volunteers are welcome and needed during rehearsals and performances. Volunteering is a great way to support your student and the arts in TCISD.

This production is a celebration of student talent and collaboration across campuses. We look forward to creating a magical experience for our community through Sting Theatre.
