The Texas City High School Sting Band earned a Division I (Superior) rating at the UIL Marching Band Contest at Challenger Stadium on Oct. 8, securing a trip to the UIL Area Marching Contest for the first time since 2017.
The Sting Band will compete at Area on Oct. 24 in Channelview. This milestone reflects the students’ hard work, determination and commitment to musical excellence.
Band directors Brad Comeaux, Michael Johnson, Ben Guillotte, Jared Angel and Samantha Osteen have dedicated countless hours to preparing students for this achievement. Sarah Williams and Vanessa Betancour provided additional color guard support, while the district’s feeder band staff helped build the foundation for students’ success.
Band parents and supporters also played an important role, working behind the scenes to support the students throughout the marching season.
Texas City ISD congratulates the Sting Band students, directors and everyone who helped make this accomplishment possible. The district looks forward to cheering them on at Area!
