Mental health matters every day. 💚

On World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded of the importance of taking care of ourselves, checking in on one another and creating spaces where everyone feels supported, valued and heard.

Small acts of care can make a big difference. 🫶

Barbering and Cosmetology students from La Marque High School and Texas City High School recently toured salon and spa facilities at Moody Gardens and learned what it takes to stand out in the workplace.

Hiring Manager Michael Martin and Salon & Spa Director Gabriela La Mendiaga welcomed our students and shared valuable advice on making a strong impression before, during and after an interview, along with the communication, professionalism and other soft skills employers value.

Mr. Martin also invited students to follow up with him by email for help with résumé writing and entry-level job placement!

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. 🧡

Every student deserves to feel safe, respected and included. At Texas City ISD, we can all help by choosing kindness, including others and speaking up when someone needs support.

If you experience or witness bullying, reach out to a teacher, counselor or trusted adult. Asking for help is an important step, and you don’t have to handle it alone.

Together, we can build school communities where every student feels they belong.

October is Learning Disabilities Awareness Month, which is a time to build understanding and celebrate the strengths, talents and contributions of students with learning disabilities.

Every student deserves to feel valued, included and supported. By listening, recognizing individual needs and providing meaningful support, we can help students access learning, build confidence and pursue their goals.

At Texas City ISD, we’re grateful for the educators and families who work together to create welcoming classrooms where every student belongs. 🧡💙
